Bringing sustainability to business and protecting communities
Sustainability is a key pillar of our strategic ambitions aligned with our mission: “we act for human progress by combining passion with advanced expertise to protect what matters when it matters”.
Our commitments include :
- Addressing climate change (decarbonation) by reducing AXA Partners' carbon footprint and environmental impact (across core business, corporate activities, and employee behaviors).
- Integrating sustainability into our core business by developing a range of green & inclusive products.
- Driving societal change and responsible employment by promoting the company as a responsible and committed employer & tackling social challenges through philanthropic initiatives.
- Fostering inclusive governance by strengthening internal commitment to sustainability.
At AXA Partners, we are committed to making a positive impact on the planet by reducing CO2 emissions. Given the nature of our business, we are well-positioned to assist customers and networks in transitioning to green mobility. As an inclusive employer, we are embarking all our employees on the sustainability journey.

Addressing Climate Change
At AXA Partners, we care deeply about the effects of climate change on the environment and on society. As part of our engagements, we are committed to decreasing our CO2 emissions with targets covering energy, business travel, water, paper, waste and our digital footprint.

In addition to reducing emissions within our own operations, we have launched in 2024 a comprehensive carbon footprint assessment of our global value chain, with a focus on evaluating the emissions of our network of providers. We are actively developing and implementing collective action plans to reduce these emissions while ensuring compliance with the new EU regulation on sustainability (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) through the disclosure of relevant information.
Optimizing our operations is key to reducing emissions. For example, by increasing the density of our partner provider network and enhancing on-the-spot repair effectiveness for Motor Assistance, we aim to minimize travel distances and improve the performance of our providers' fleets. These efforts not only benefit our providers but also ultimately contribute to a positive impact for our end customers.

Integrating sustainability into our core business
We are dedicated to integrating sustainability into our core business by developing offerings that facilitate our customers' transition to green energy and sustainable mobility. Our goal is to address evolving needs with innovative sustainable products. For instance, in response to the growing interest in electric vehicles (EVs), we provide specific assistance services for EV owners, along with associated home charging solutions. Additionally, we actively promote alternative and greener mobility options to our customers, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions, particularly when their vehicles are undergoing repairs.
This is a collective journey!
We work hand in hand with a wide range of parties and stakeholders as we strive to continuously challenge and engage with the whole value chain:
We regularly meet business partners to share our sustainability roadmap and collaborate with their own sustainability targets.
We also collaborate with business schools to inspire the next generation to tackle sustainability challenges. Through workshops, we encourage students to share their innovative ideas and fresh perspectives.
We frequently meet our business suppliers to improve on sustainability topics:
- Participation in webinars, panels, keynotes, and workshops
- Inclusion of a sustainable development clause in contracts
- Integration of an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria grid into the calls for tenders
- Responding suppliers’ questionnaires related to our ESG initiatives and targets.

Driving societal change and responsible employment
Be part of the change
As part of our commitment to driving societal change and fostering responsible employment practices, we have undertaken a symbolic yet impactful initiative. Since 2023, we have partnered with Reforest'Action to plant one tree for every person recruited into a permanent position within our organization. Recruited employees can contribute to one of two selected projects, located in Colombia or Ivory Coast, through tree planting.

In addition, our team members and partners are actively encouraged to engage in the fight against climate change. Through the AXA Climate Academy, we ensure that everyone comprehends key climate concepts and takes meaningful actions.
Furthermore, we organize quarterly sustainability keynotes in collaboration with the AXA ecosystem, including the AXA Research Fund, to raise awareness on sustainability.
Giving back to society
Protecting what matters when it matters is in our DNA. We also firmly believe in giving back to society in a broader sense. Our employees are enthusiastic participants in corporate philanthropy and volunteering, donating their time and skills with passion to key social projects with AXA Hearts in Action. Their contributions include local community actions ranging from diversity and inclusion awareness to zero waste training for employees. Through these initiatives, we want to foster solidarity by helping individuals, businesses, and societies to grow and thrive.
Moreover, in 2024, we launched a new philanthropic program across AXA Partners focused on social inclusion, aiming to support individuals from vulnerable economic backgrounds and contribute to their well-being and advancement. Through these initiatives, we aim to foster solidarity and empower individuals, businesses, and societies to thrive.

Social inequalities and inclusion
Whether it’s promoting gender parity in senior leadership roles or improving the inclusion of workers with disabilities, we consider fighting social inequalities as part of our role as a socially responsible company. This means making special efforts in recruiting as well as ensuring the accessibility of our sites (physical and virtual). We want also to ensure that our solutions are as accessible and inclusive as possible by finding new ways to reach populations who do not usually have access to traditional insurance and by answering to the specific needs of our customers. Protecting people and enhancing their opportunities is at the heart of all we do.

Fostering inclusive governance
In 2024, we launched a Sustainability Community with a network of ambassadors in every country where AXA Partners is present. These dedicated individuals share a common enthusiasm and commitment to developing tangible sustainability initiatives. This collective journey harnesses the power of our collective intelligence, working together to build a sustainable world for future generations.
"Becoming a Sustainability Ambassador at AXA Partners means much more than taking care of the planet, cause sustainability goes way above this. Sustainability is a way of life; it’s thinking about the other rather than about us. It’s trying in the present for a better future. It’s teaching everyone around us that we could do much more in all aspects of our daily life.
As a company, we are committed to become leaders in Sustainability, and encourage our customers, providers, employees and even peers to go in the same direction.
In my position, I have noticed that customers seek for companies that can provide solutions to current challenges and demands. From an entity commitment to streamlined products, it’s in our daily conversations and at AXA Partners we are committed to become leaders in this matter."
